our mission
The purpose of the HSA is to provide support to the teachers, staff, and parents/caregivers of Henry H. Houston Elementary and to enhance the growth, education, and development of our children.
We seek to accomplish this in the following ways:
Fundraising
We raise funds for HSA-led community building events, to support school needs, and to enhance the educational and physical spaces
People power
We recruit volunteers from our membership and the broader school community to support HSA and school-led events and activities
Advocacy
We advocate and raise awareness on issues that impact education and the entire Philadelphia public school community
Community
We seek to promote cooperation and communication between parents/caregivers, school teachers and staff, and our neighboring communities
